The 30 minutes

What happens in the 30 minutes

A market intelligence briefing runs 30 minutes and opens with your question, not our slides. It is run by Viktor Klein, Managing Director of 8scale, and the named analyst behind the Scalebook research.

The first ten minutes are yours: the asset class, the decision in front of you, the date it has to be made. The next ten are ours, one insight we prepared about your market before the call. The last ten are the honest part: whether a custom study, a market-entry mandate or nothing at all is the right next step.

When the answer is nothing, we say so on the call. You leave with one usable number, its base year and its source, plus a written note naming the scope if there is one worth scoping.

We prepare the insight before the briefing, so the 30 minutes are spent on your decision rather than on framing.

For inspection and maintenance robotics the anchor figures are already public: USD 2.89 billion market value in 2024, 15.8 % CAGR to 2030, legged robots the fastest-growing of eight tracked segments at 25 % CAGR (cite as: 8scale Scalebook 2025). Those are the starting point, not the insight. The insight is what they mean for your asset class, your region and your pipeline, and where our data thins out. Read the inspection and maintenance robotics market report or how we size the market before you book, and the briefing starts one level deeper.

If your question sits outside our current dive site, we tell you in the briefing what can be sourced and what would need primary research.

What you take away

The one insight we bring about your market

Who it is for

Who the briefing is for

Three groups, B2B only, across worldwide.

Asset owners and operators bring turnaround windows, ATEX zones, HSE exposure and vendor shortlists that have to survive an audit. Service providers and integrators bring margin questions: billable hours versus outcome-based delivery, and which inspection scopes robots actually take over. Technology companies bring market entry, the last such mandate was a Swiss robotics company entering the US, the kind of question our market-entry strategy work is built for.

It is not for you if you want a free TAM slide for a fundraising deck. Download the report instead; the public figures are citable. The briefing is for decisions that carry a date, a budget line and a name attached to them.

Send us your question in one sentence. Vague inputs produce vague briefings, and 30 minutes does not absorb a discovery phase.

With the question, give us three things: the geography and asset scope you care about, the date the decision has to be made, and what you already hold, pilot reports, vendor quotes, prior market estimates, internal maintenance spend. If a document cannot leave your side, name the topic and we work around it. Tell us in advance if an NDA has to be in place first.

We use the input to decide which insight to prepare and whether a custom market study is even the right instrument. If a shorter email answer settles your question, you get that instead and we do not book the call.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions about the briefing

No. We bring one insight about your market and give you an honest read on whether research helps. Roughly half of these conversations end with a pointer to an existing report or a public figure rather than a proposal. We are analysts, and we say when a mandate is not warranted.

Nothing. The briefing itself is free. Engagements downstream are priced per project for custom market studies and on retainer for consulting and market-entry work. We publish no list prices, because scope, geography and primary-research depth drive the cost.

German and English. We work in Central European Time and schedule US calls in the CET afternoon. Written follow-ups come in the language you prefer.

Yes. The Scalebook 2025 inspection and maintenance robotics report is a gated download, and its headline figures are free to cite as: 8scale Scalebook 2025. Book the briefing when your question goes past what the report answers.
